MUSIC lesson1

                             Introductionto music theory

Lesson1

The basics

Music can be defined as the organized combination of sound, and rhythm. There are so many other definitions from many different scenarios, but basically, music just has to do with sound and rhythm when they combine in a certain organized procession.

                               Sound

Sound is actually what you get from the voice or piano or any other instrument that can be written in notes in the d r m f s l t d or the A B C D E F G. Now you must understand that all music that has been sung or played no matter what type of music it is, it comes from these two concepts which operate in exactly the same way, we can actually say that the two are but one.
Mastering the d r m f s l t d makes you be able to know what sound one is playing or singing.

                                           Rhythm

Think of rhythm as non-sound sounds meaning that they don’t follow the concepts of d r m f s l t d or A B C D E F G, you could say noises if you like, but they provide a flow for one who is singing or playing. Rhythm also creates danceable flow.

So under sound, we will discuss the following:-

·         Practice the scale, d r m f s l t d
·         The chromatic scale
·         Melody
·         Harmony
·         Keys A B C D E F G
·         The treble & Bass clef

·         How to find the key

Under rhythm, we will be discussing the following:-

·                                                                                                                    Rhythmic symbols
·         Rests
·         Time signature

After these we will be done with the basics.
